This course is designed for local and international IT graduates who are seeking advanced professional study with a focus on information technology management, organisational strategies and planning.

The core areas of study provide a foundation for further elective choices and expertise in organisational, project and software management that reflect individual students' interests.
The course can be combined with the Master of Commercial Software Engineering Management (C04221) to provide for a two-year combined Master's program resulting in two testamurs.
This course aims to provide graduates with advanced professional study in organisational and project management and develop the professional skills necessary for successfully undertaking the role of manager of people, resources and processes in a variety of organisational contexts. Upon completion of this course, students possess enhanced work-ready expertise in IT management, practical problem-solving skills and advanced communication skills and technical literacy.

The Master of Information Technology Management is part of an articulated program consisting of the Graduate Diploma in Managing Information Technology (C07114) and the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Project Management (C11192).
Local applicants require a minimum qualification equivalent to a Bachelor's degree with a major in computing/information technology (or related discipline) or a Bachelor's degree plus a Graduate Diploma in computing/information technology (or related discipline) from a recognised Australian university.
Applicants with insufficient formal qualifications may be admitted if they can demonstrate evidence of general and professional qualifications, such as other post-secondary school qualifications that can establish the applicant's aptitude, knowledge and practical experience, which will satisfy the Faculty Board in Information Technology that the applicant possesses the educational preparation and capacity to pursue postgraduate studies.
International applicants require knowledge and grades equivalent to the knowledge and standard required for admission as a local applicant. In addition, applicants should attach detailed transcripts of their coursework, annotated with their grades, to demonstrate that they satisfy these admission requirements.
This course is offered on a one-and-a-half-year full-time, or three-year, part-time basis.
