The pervasive use of technology in organisations has created a critical dependency on IT. Organisational owners and executive management are increasingly focused on the way this component is being governed. This subject explores the domain of IT Governance including the emerging legal frameworks, governance structures, IT–business strategy alignment, information ecology, evaluation and risk management. Students gain an understanding of IT Governance in its contemporary organisational context, are equipped to determine appropriate IT Governance processes for their organisation and communicate governance issues effectively with their executive management.
