Overview

The Graduate Diploma in Project Management is an exit degree for students enrolled in the Master of Project Management.

This course provides a comprehensive grounding in the underlying principles, trends and practical aspects of project, program and portfolio management: time, cost, quality, risk, procurement, human resources, integration, scope and context.

Students can select subjects according to their level of experience: Choice Block 1 provides a structured pathway into the program. Choice Block 2 provides a greater choice for those with substantial industry experience by allowing them to choose their own pathway based on the gaps in their knowledge.

Course aims

Successful graduates of the course can:

• develop and apply project management methodologies to suit different project and organisational contexts
• communicate effectively in culturally diverse settings
• take a lead role in project, program and portfolio management
• manage relationships between key stakeholders in a variety of local and international settings
• apply ethical practice to project governance

• apply critical thinking, analytical and research skills to a range of project and program management contexts.

Project management is one of the fastest growing global professional disciplines in many local and international industries, including banking and finance, construction and engineering, health, IT, event management and government among others.

Recognition of prior learning

Applicants with a cognate four-year degree may be given up to 24 credit points of exemptions.

Global accreditation through the Project Management Institute.
