Project management is a process-orientated discipline that allows for the professional delivery of major projects in many different industry sectors. The UTS program provides a comprehensive grounding in the underlying principles, trends and practical aspects of project, program and portfolio management: time, cost, quality, risk, procurement, human resources, integration, scope and context.
Introductory subjects provide a structured pathway into the program. Students with substantial project management experience may be able to choose more advanced subjects from the Graduate Diploma course at the discretion of the Course Director.

Project management is one of the fastest growing global professional disciplines in many local and international industries, including banking and finance, construction and engineering, health, IT, event management and government among others.
Students require a recognised undergraduate degree plus six month's industry experience, or five year's industry experience.
The Graduate Certificate is offered on a one-semester, full-time, or one-year, part-time basis.
The course is delivered in face-to-face mode (on campus or offshore in conjunction with selected education partners).
Students complete four compulsory subjects totalling 24 credit points.

The course may be taken as a separate award or articulate to, and form part of, the Master of Project Management (C04006). The Project Management program structure allows students a choice of entry requirements and study paths leading to the award of Graduate Certificate (24 credit points), Graduate Diploma (C07004) (48 credit points), Master of Project Management (C04006) (72 credit points), and Master of Business Administration (Project Management major) (C04018) (96 credit points). Each stage is self-contained and can be undertaken through part-time or full-time study.
Global accreditation is through the Project Management Institute. The course is also endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management, the Association of Project Management (UK) and the Project Management Institute of South Africa, and meets the Australian National Competency Standards for Project Management and PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guide.
