This subject requires the student to demonstrate self-directed learning on a project of their choice. The focus of this subject is on predictive, not descriptive, design; students focus their design solutions outside of their usual handwriting while impacting their personal design philosophy. The subject is supported by a series of lectures, seminars and tutorials that address current international design issues. The subject concludes with a final concept portfolio documenting the research and design process.
