This subject focuses on directional womenswear. Students research selected case studies through to a body of work. The fashion world is driven forward each season by renowned designers who invent change, these changes are made all the more powerful in the context of a collection as shown twice a year in the major capitals of the world. These collections are a vehicle to show designers individuality and this subject is the study of how a designer's handwriting is developed over a period of years.
Through a design project, students research a case study and predict future design direction. This subject is supported by advanced drape and its particular use as an inquiry into form.
