This subject is designed to assist students to analyse, design and undertake assessment practices and policies in the educational, training and workplace contexts. It explores the educational, social, economic and human resource issues in assessment and how these relate to the purposes of the assessment.

This subject further seeks to give students skills in conducting competency-based assessment both in a classroom and workplace context. Participants are exposed to the latest development in competency-based assessment as it applies to the Australian context and develop skills in the design, implementation and validation of competency-based assessment.
