This subject aims to provide participants with an understanding of the major psychological approaches to adult learning and teaching. These include processes for developing cognitive and performance skills, variables affecting acquisition, retention and transfer of knowledge and skills and a range of learner characteristics that affect learning. Participants are encouraged to apply this understanding to their teaching practices.
