Addressing the vast array of environmental challenges that we face as a result of our impacts on the natural world is a daunting task. Such a task requires a rigorous, scientific understanding of how ecosystems work. This subject is a senior-level undergraduate subject that provides students with the most up-to-date information concerning our grasp of the functioning of healthy ecosystems and of how ecosystems are altered through human activities. It uses case studies to explore the recent advances in the field. The specific topics covered in the subject are updated annually to include environmental issues of current concern. This is an online subject that makes use of the most cutting-edge developments in online learning.
