The aims of this studio are: to encourage an understanding of space, its occupation and users' needs; to introduce students to the development of design and program/brief; to encourage an understanding of the significance of environmental impact in architectural design; to encourage an understanding of the purpose of urban planning controls and to develop strategies of architectural design within an urban context; and to develop general knowledge of design development and documentation.
