This subject looks at the construction technology associated with multi-storey commercial buildings. Students are introduced to pre-stressed concrete construction, curtain walling, basement construction, load-bearing walls, framed structures, transportation and placement of concrete, prefabricated construction, including precast concrete, piling, slip-forma and jump-form construction. Full-time students are required to undertake a course of practical studies.
