This subject looks at the construction technology associated with multiple occupancy residential and low-rise commercial/industrial buildings. Students are introduced to the terminology and detail design of typical construction solutions for attached housing, walk-up apartments, warehouses, and factory units. Steel-framed buildings, tilt-up construction, footing systems, external claddings, internal linings, windows, doors, finishes, joinery, waterproofing, relevant building regulations and codes. Full-time students are required to undertake a course of practical studies.
