Overview

The Bachelor of Management in Leisure provides students with the knowledge and professional skills necessary to operate within the leisure industry.

The course provides professional skills in the management, marketing and administration of leisure services.

Course aims

Graduates of this program develop theoretical knowledge and skills relevant to the organisation, research, planning, administration, marketing and equitable distribution of leisure services.

Career options

Career options include manager in the leisure industries such as events, tourism, sport, arts and entertainment.

Non-current school leavers should submit a Personal Statement to UTS by 30 November 2006.

Additional assumed knowledge

Any two units of English.

Additional recognition of prior learning

Students may apply for recognition of prior learning in subjects in which they consider themselves eligible. Equivalence of subject matter is the main criterion for recognition of prior learning in a subject successfully completed at another institution.

Course duration and attendance

The Bachelor of Management in Leisure is taught on a full-time basis. The normal time for completion is three years.

Full-time students should be aware that they are required to attend evening classes as part of their program of study.

The Bachelor of Management in Leisure is offered at Kuring-gai campus only.

Course structure

Students must complete a total of 144 credit points made up of 24 subjects, comprising 20 core and four elective subjects.

Industrial training/professional practice

The course has an extensive industry based internship program providing graduates with work ready professional skills.
