Overview

The UTS Online Graduate Certificate in Operations and Supply Chain Management is a specialist postgraduate qualification that develops holistic knowledge of operations and supply chain management concepts with technical and commercial capabilities that will prepare you to lead effective operations.

The Graduate Certificate subjects are designed to ensure 'relevance to workplace', instantly adding value to careers and organisations with the capability to stay relevant and successful paving the pathway to a career in supply chain management, procurement and logistics.

Course aims

This course equips professionals with foundational skills in planning, designing and managing supply chains, and how to build resilient supply chains that better respond to risks of disruption today and in the future.

Career options

Completing the program could lead to roles such as Procurement Lead, Procurement Manager, Operations Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager, Production Manager and Logistics Manager.

Course intended learning outcomes

1.1 Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to identify opportunities and formulate creative options for complex real-world operations and supply chain management problems
2.1 Employ interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and communication strategies to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders at multiple levels
3.1 Explain principles of ethics, sustainability, and knowledge relevant to Indigenous contexts to guide supply chain managers in making informed decisions to engage with Indigenous businesses in operations and supply chain management
4.1 Apply knowledge of operations and supply chain management concepts with technical and commercial capabilities to lead professional practice

Admission requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

All applicants who do not meet the academic requirement may still be considered on the basis of:

  • a minimum of at least four years full time, or equivalent, relevant post-secondary work experience.

The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and a Statement of Service, confirming the dates of employment and the position held within the organisation.

The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

Recognition of prior learning

Students in the Graduate Certificate are not granted exemptions for any prior studies.

Course duration and attendance

The course is offered on an eight months, full-time basis (i.e.. 1 x 6 credit points subject per session over 4 x 7-week sessions).
Approval to study more than one six-credit point subject per session will be subject to Faculty approval.

Course structure

The course comprises a total of 24 credit points.
