Description
This subject supports the final phase of the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (Honours) journey. It is dedicated to deep thinking and individual development of a research project with active input from research supervisors and other relevant stakeholders and experts. Students are expected to individually navigate research project realisation and delivery to produce an individual 'thesis', which can be executed in a chosen format, but must include a substantial written component. As part of the project students are invited to contribute to peer writing groups in order to seek and receive feedback on their work. Students are also offered an opportunity to contribute to a shared FTDi research output and/or co-author research publications with their supervisors.
Subject learning objectives (SLOs)
Upon successful completion of this subject students should be able to:
1. | Produce research thesis in a chosen format to communicate research insights in coherent and compelling ways |
---|---|
2. | Articulate the implications of research and make a case for a personal contribution to knowledge or professional practice |
3. | Reflect on the creative and transdisciplinary process of discovery and draw insights for further research |
Course intended learning outcomes (CILOs)
This subject contributes specifically to the development of the following course intended learning outcomes:
- Produce written thesis, creative work, publications and oral presentations, as required, to communicate research and ideas in coherent and compelling ways (2.9)
- Be reflexive, creative thinkers and practitioners who are intellectually curious, imaginative and innovative in how they conceive and execute a research project (4.6)

Teaching and learning strategies
The subject is inquiry-based: students pursue their individual projects guided by research supervisors and in conversation with the Creative Intelligence Capstone subject cohort to draw from and contribute to shared learning. Students participate in regular sessions where they explore approaches to transdisciplinary research, writing and project management and initiate / curate seminar-style events where they present their work-in-progress for peer and expert feedback.
