Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Sport Management provides an introduction to the sport industry environment alongside an awareness of management skills relevant to this sector. The program includes subjects that develop a critical understanding of sport management across the areas of business, globalisation, governance, and sport for social impact in both the Australian and international contexts.
The course is developed and delivered in collaboration with industry experts from the field, with each subject comprising of a mix of sport management concepts and real-world practice. Research-inspired course content is delivered by world-leading academics and industry partners, which allows students to apply knowledge and understanding across different domains of the sport industry. It offers introductory skill sets needed for managers to operate in the sport industry.

The Graduate Certificate in Sport Management provides authentic engagement with the world of sport, producing graduates with specific skills and attributes of interest to employers in this sector. Graduates may pursue careers in fields such as sport management, sport marketing, sport development, and sports administration.

Admission requirements
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
All applicants who do not meet the academic requirement may still be considered on the basis of:
- a minimum of at least four years' full time, or equivalent, relevant work experience.
The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and a Statement of Service confirming the dates of employment, and the position held within the organisation.
The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

Course duration and attendance
The course duration is one year of part-time study.
Students who wish to undertake a full-time study load should apply for the Graduate Certificate in Business Immersion and Career Transition (C11300).
Course structure
All students must complete a total of 24 credit points made up of four core subjects.
