Description
A knowledge of the structures (anatomy) and processes (physiology) of the healthy human being is essential to the practice of nursing. Homeostasis is a state of internal physiological balance and equates with a state of health in the person. Through the guiding principle of homeostasis, this subject describes the contribution of different organ systems to the maintenance of a state of wellness. In this subject, the organ systems investigated include the endocrine, urinary, immune and reproductive systems. This subject also introduces blood components and haemostasis, microbiology, nutrition, and genetics.
