Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Strategic Supply Chain Management provides a solid introduction to business operations management for those wishing to gain some experience in this area.

The course specifically provides a preliminary set of skills and capabilities required to manage inter- and intra-organisational resources, and business operations and supply chain management functions.

Course aims

The course introduces participants to the nature and contribution of supply chain and operational management functions in an organisational context.

Career options include management-level positions in industry or government.

Course intended learning outcomes

1.1 Formulate options that respond to community, Indigenous and business needs within a strategic supply chain management context
2.1 Communicate information clearly and fluently to a diverse range of stakeholders
2.2 Interact with colleagues and stakeholders to work effectively in teams and deliver agreed project outcomes
3.1 Explain principles of law, ethics, sustainability and Indigenous values as strategic supply chain managers
4.1 Use strategic supply chain management concepts, including Indigenous perspectives, and technical skills to lead professional practice in operations and supply chain management

Admission requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

All applicants who do not meet the academic requirement may still be considered on the basis of:

• a minimum of at least four years' full time, or equivalent, relevant work experience.

The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and a Statement of Service confirming the dates of employment, and the position held within the organisation.

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

International students

Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.

Course duration and attendance

The course duration is one session of full-time or one year of part-time study.

Course structure

Students must complete a total of 24 credit points made up of 4 subjects, comprising one core (6 credit points) and three subjects (18 credit points) selected from a list of six specialist subjects.
