Description
This subject takes advantage of the sourcing and application of the now available huge range of national, state, and environmental data types available in NSW and Australia. The creative use of GIS in a design context leverages its strengths in data manipulation and analysis, and allows interface with practice design methods, CAD and design software. Cartographic techniques, employed as the primary tool of investigation, uncover the systems, networks and formations which only reveal themselves at the territorial scale. The tools and techniques are generative and productive for design and adapted to the Australian planning and territorial context.
