Handbook description

This subject is for students whose academic English falls below the IELTS requirements for the other Australian language and culture subjects. It involves face-to-face teaching in a three-week block. The subject introduces students to the academic English requirements in an Australian university context. It focuses on Australian society, culture and history using a variety of media. Students develop cultural understanding, skills, knowledge and the confidence required to use English in academic and non-academic settings. Students are also given opportunities to meet local UTS students and audit approved subjects.
