Note: This major is only available to students enrolled in the Master of Laws (C04143) and the Doctor of Juridical Science (C02027).
Family law is a dynamic area in Australia, entailing near-constant reform to legislation and to the dispute resolution processes that surround it. This specialisation offers a range of subjects on a rolling basis to update and refresh practitioners in this challenging area of legal practice. The specialisation also offers theoretical and policy-based subjects of interest to students with a more general interest in family law issues, including those working in social and family policy, international students, and those considering pursuing a research degree in the area. The dispute resolution subjects in particular offer practical skills-based learning.
