Handbook description
This subject provides an introduction to the study of people from an holistic perspective. It also examines issues in systems of health care. People, focusing on individual differences and human development, are studied from biological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual perspectives. Studies in health psychology provide a basis for understanding the complex interactions between people, the environment and factors in the health care system that impact on health and wellbeing. The Australian health care system is studied from multiple perspectives to highlight the complexities in service provision for diverse populations and with the impact of changing forces and trends.
