This subject addresses the range of management and planning issues appropriate to the operation of ecotourism in Australian society. It provides an understanding of key aspects of ecotourism projects and operations and explores principles and practices for commercial and public agencies that work but still include the underlying principles and ethics of ecotourism. It examines the management skills that are needed to establish a successful ecotourism project or operation and considers issues such as ethical marketing and community relationships. It also explores the context for management, planning and operation in this area such as conservation, protected area management and organisational relationships in the tourism industry.
