Handbook description

This subject seeks to develop in students an understanding of the skills and knowledge associated with the creation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of risk management strategies in an event setting. Additionally, this subject seeks to provide students with the capacity to critically review existing approaches used by events for the management of risk.

Subject objectives/outcomes

On successful completion of this subject students should be able to:

  1. Develop event risk management strategies.
  2. Implement event risk management strategies.
  3. Monitor and evaluate event risk management strategies.
  4. Critically assess case specific data relating to events and their risk management processes.

This subject deals with the skills and knowledge required to create, implement, monitor and evaluate risk management strategies in an event setting. Additionally, this subject seeks to provide students with the capacity to critically review existing approaches used by events organizers for the management of risk, and as such case studies play a significant role in this subject.
