The Honours thesis requires students to produce a 20,000-word thesis based on an original problem of a theoretical or applied nature. The thesis is expected to demonstrate students' competency to conceptualise, conduct and present research in a scholarly and independent manner.

Subject objectives/outcomes

On successful completion of this subject students should be able to:

1. Produce a 20,000 word research thesis based on an original problem of a theoretical or applied nature. The thesis is not expected to advance knowledge but it should demonstrate evidence of the student's competency to conceptualise, conduct and present research in a scholarly and independent manner.

Contribution to graduate profile

This subject is the culmination of the Honours program. The award and level of Honours is determined by the quality of the Honours thesis.
