8cp; 2hpwThe objective of this subject is to train students experientially in the methodologies, skills and theoretical perspectives required for research in international studies. Students focus on the critical, analytical and methodological skills required to conduct fieldwork research. Assessment is based around the building of a research proposal, an essay on international studies, and contributions to a continuing online discussion of contemporary international studies issues. Students engage with aspects of international research through interactive classroom lecture-tutorials, guest specialist lectures, online postings (blogs) on current affairs on television, and library skills.
