95567 Digital Media in Social Context

This subject uses interdisciplinary approaches in media, communication, and cultural studies to explore debates around the roles of media in society, particularly new and digital media. It explores the notion of an information revolution in relation to the history of media. Students develop critical techniques with which to discuss and examine various media products, from mobile applications to science fiction films, in order to better understand contemporary cultural and social forms.
