This project-based subject focuses on information retrieval and the use of information in the design context. The emphasis is on locating and applying data efficiently, comprehensively and economically within the framework of a given design task. (Students have the opportunity to apply the information collected to a design-related task.)
The subject also examines the history of design and designers paying particular attention to the emergence of industrial design from the late 1700s to the present day.
