This subject covers lecture topics such as high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography (GC), capillary electrophoresis (CE), capillary electrochromatography (CEC), advanced mass spectrometry (MS), lab-on-a-chip (LOC) and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The lectures cover the basic theory and instrumentation, sample preparation, autosamplers, detectors and applications for each analytical technique.
The practical component involves the operation of modern analytical instrumentation, with students developing the necessary skills to generate high quality data.
