The aim of this subject is to cover current and future web technologies and the design, development and management of web-based systems. The following material is covered: information concepts, web development processes, web system design models and methods, web modelling frameworks, web system architectures, web system quality, web evaluation, scoping of web projects, development risks, social issues, web content and advanced standards, AJAX technologies, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), XMLHTTPRequest, IFrame, cookies, document-centric approaches and remote scripting.
Assessment: Research report (30 per cent), major project (35 per cent), final examination (35 per cent).
