49020 Wireless Network Simulation

This subject builds on knowledge gained in the subject 49048 Wireless Networking Technologies. The focus of the student is on modelling and simulating wireless networks using a popular network simulator (NS2). The subject consists of lab sessions that focus on important aspects of wireless networks such as radio propagation, mobility models, physical layer, MAC layers, Mobile IP and Handovers.

Assessment: The assessment consists of two simulation assignments

(15 per cent and 35 per cent) and five quizzes (each 10 per cent).
