48221 Informatics: Visual Basic

This subject introduces students to programming and software testing. It presents the syntax and mechanism of the Visual Basic language and shows how to build simple software systems. It covers the topics of object-oriented (OO) programming, GUI building and basic testing.

Assessment: VB Programming Assignment (15 per cent), Spreadsheet application for engineering (15 per cent), Practical Examiniation (25 per cent), Written Examination (25 per cent), Write an advanced programming assignment or Write a spreadsheet macro to solve an engineering problem or Research an IT topic approved by tutor (20 per cent).

2009 contribution for post-2008 Commonwealth-supported students: $926.50
