6cp
Postgraduate

This is an integrating subject focusing on obtaining an understanding of how to gain competitive advantage at a strategic level in the digital age. IT&T developments have been the driving force of change. The interaction of business and IT planning is reviewed using a number of concepts through a framework approach to enable the analysis and generation of competitive advantage. The early lectures focus on the causes and impact of the digital age. Subsequent lectures review the strategic impact of technology for disruptive and sustaining effects. The subject progresses through a series of case studies and guest lecture presentations through examples of B2B, B2C and G2B and concludes with a review of the successful methods of implementation and an examination of the critical contemporary issues of innovation, outsourcing and new organisational trends.
