This subject aims to provide students with an understanding of the major psychological approaches to issues in adult learning and teaching. These include processes for developing cognitive skills, variables affecting acquisition, retention and transfer and a range of learner characteristics that affect learning. Students are encouraged to apply this understanding to their teaching practices.
