6cpThis subject develops students' understanding of the nature of history and history teaching. It explores a variety of teaching approaches and strategies suitable for the Stage 4, 5 History secondary curriculum as detailed in syllabus documents. The subject aims to provide students with the skills, knowledge, understanding, values and attitudes required of an effective beginning teacher of History in the secondary school. This subject is closely associated with practicum experience. An emphasis is placed on innovative teaching methods, professional commitment, current developments in teaching and learning, and reflection on teaching practice.

2009 contribution for post-2008 Commonwealth-supported students: $520.25
