Overview
This course provides an opportunity for graduates to acquire research skills and deepen their knowledge in an area of science.
Course aims
The aim of the program is the professional development of the candidate, providing experience in problem definition, hypothesis formulation and testing, data acquisition, analysis and interpretation, and project presentation.
Career options
Career options include environmental consultant, medical scientist, researcher, resource manager, scientist or technologist.
Admission requirements
Applicants are required to provide satisfactory evidence of their ability to undertake the program in which they are interested and may be required to take a prescribed subject in research methodology or any other subject deemed necessary by their principal supervisor or the Faculty Research Committee.
Course duration and attendance
The maximum course duration is two years of full-time, or four years of part-time study.
Course structure
Students work under the guidance of a supervisor who is a member of the full-time academic staff of the University. The degree is examined through presentation of a thesis.
