Result Type: Grade and marksThis subject, in conjunction with the prerequisite subject, acts as a capstone subject for the Bachelor of Management in Tourism (C10040 or C10044), and as such brings together knowledge and skills developed throughout the course. Students carry through the activities outlined in the research proposal they prepared in the prerequisite subject, with the aim of solving a selected tourism management problem on behalf of an industry client. Students may work on this project either individually or in pairs.

This subject, in conjunction with the prerequisite subject, this subject acts as a capstone for the Bachelor of Management in Tourism. It is designed to integrate the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the course and to give students the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to apply these to a practical tourism management situation. The subject contributes to the development of the students' professional skills by effectively placing them in a consultancy relationship with a particular tourism industry client, and requiring them to present a substantial professional report in both written and verbal forms. This report should suggest solutions relating to allocation of resources, given organisational constraints, for a real-life industry problem or issue
Specific teaching strategies include predominantly independent project work, in consultation with an academic supervisor, with some lectures/workshops. Content for this subject will be supported by UTSOnline.

The project report is highly individualised, requires an extensive bibliography and has topics that are developed in consultation with industry clients and reflective of current industry issues and problems, therefore, the possibility of plagiarism is reduced. During the presentation session, students are assessed by the instructor based on content, relevance and control, therefore, the risk of plagiarism is reduced.
