This subject contributes to the core sequence as an overview of some of the software and hardware technologies utilised in the development and maintenance of moderately complex websites exhibiting sophisticated interactivity and which require a more systematic approach to management. It provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate an understanding of the skills and issues relevant to the creation and management of websites of moderate complexity. These skills may include simple HTML authoring, XHTML, cascading style sheets (CSS), browser scripting with Javascript, interaction with back-end database environments using scripting engines such as ColdFusion, PHP and WebObjects, and other skills as appropriate.
