This subject focuses on experimental design in womenswear and other approaches to form in design. The fashion world is driven forward each season by renowned designers who invent change, these changes are made all the more powerful in the context of a designer collection shown twice a year. These collections demonstrate a designer's individual handwriting and their place in the international marketplace. Through research and design inquiry into form, students further develop their individual design handwriting into experimental form in fashion. Students elect one of two design projects: Fashion Invention or Design Development for Fashion.
This subject is supported by a lecture series and advanced drape methodology.
