In this subject candidates acquire an understanding of the trial process, the various methods used to prepare a case for court, and the technical skills required to present effectively the client's case to the court. Candidates also acquire an understanding of the ethical duties and obligations legal practitioners owe to their clients, the court, counsel for the other side, the legal profession and society generally. At the end of the subject, candidates are expected to demonstrate competently the preparation, technical performance and communication skills required of a competent advocate.
