This is a specialist subject on the WTO. On completion of this subject, students develop an understanding of the basic legal principles underpinning the multilateral trading system; the three pillars of the multilateral trading system, namely the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, General Agreement on Trade in Services and the Agreement on Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights; the dispute settlement mechanism of the World Trade Organisation; and the institutional structure and the decision-making process of the World Trade Organisation.
