This subject deals chiefly with the law of evidence, but it also introduces students to criminal procedure. The subject is based around the provisions of the Evidence Act 1995 and relevant case law. Portions of the Criminal Procedure Act 1986, Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 and Bail Act 1978 are dealt with. The discussion of criminal procedure is focused around the relationship between procedure and evidence, but is not limited to those areas.
