Lecture, laboratory and tutorial components of the course cover: (a) spectroscopic methods of analysis including Mass Spectrometry (MS) and Infra-red (IR), Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy; (b) general chromatographic methods for separation; (c) volumetric techniques including acid-base, redox and complexometric titrations; and (d) errors, calibration and statistical interpretation of analytical data.
