This is the first of a sequence of two subjects created for international, exchange and Study Abroad students in the Advanced Diploma in Australian Language and Culture.

The subject examines texts from popular culture, including film, televison, written publications, musical works and web-based sources, in order to develop both English language proficiency and a critical approach to cultural phenomena. The understandings gained in this subject are developed and extended in second subject in the sequence.
