This subject familiarises participants with a range of approaches used in management research, with an emphasis on approaches commonly used in practical settings. The advantages and limitations of different research approaches are examined, as well as their applicability in different IT contexts. Experience is provided in the design of research studies, the analysis and interpretation of data, and report presentation. Participants acquire skills which will be useful in the conduct of research agendas in their own IT organisations and in the critical evaluation of others' research work.
