31266 Introduction to Information Systems

This subject introduces students to the core information systems which form the foundation of conducting business in the 21st century. Key concepts include how information systems support organisations and add business value, the importance of stakeholders and users in information systems, systems development methodologies, collaborative work processes, teamwork and usability evaluation. Students use collaborative learning to actively build their knowledge each week, and during the semester undertake a detailed investigation of an information system and how it supports the people and work of an organisation.
