This subject equips students with the knowledge and skills to develop and apply business strategies. The subject is driven by typical scenarios in the IT industry. A critical issue is the link between strategic business and IT planning, and how this is applied in terms of decision making and contingency planning. This is explored by way of case studies illustrating both successful and unsuccessful planning. The subject also demonstrates the need to integrate all organisational strategies, including, for example, financial and marketing plans. Students become equipped to address the future competitiveness of their organisations.
