The subject examines contemporary architecture in relation to events and debates through which architecture is presented to itself and the public. The subject draws on the historical and theoretical knowledge presented in previous subjects in order to understand and actively debate aspects of the discipline and practice that are in flux. The subject offers choices of topics where lecturers' own interests and research expertise form the basis of seminar-style teaching. As an example, a choice of topics may include: architecture after 9/11; the digital and the post-digital; architects in recent feature documentaries; the rise of a sustainability agenda. Of necessity, topics will change, being formulated according to current developments in architecture, and current research projects.
