This subject introduces issues about the nature of numeracy, what numeracy is, and how people learn numeracy. It explores models of numeracy teaching with reference to theories as well as learning experiences and observations. Students examine a range of resources that can be used for planning and designing numeracy lessons, and consider strategies for enabling learning of numeracy, with practice in teaching numeracy.
