UTS Child Care Inc. (UTSCC) coordinates all child-care services at UTS. Hours of operation are 8.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m at both City and Kuring-gai campuses. Services may provide care until 10.00 p.m. if sufficient demand exists.
Care is available for 0–5 year olds throughout the year. Child care can be accessed on a full-time or part-time basis. UTS child-care centres charge a fee comparable to other child-care centres. It is advisable to contact the child-care centres as early as possible as waiting lists may exist.
The Co-op Bookshop stocks the books on students' reading lists, as well as a variety of general titles and computer software. It has branches at City and Kuring-gai campuses.
2SER-FM is a volunteer-based community radio station. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day and is heard throughout metropolitan Sydney. 2SER-FM offers a diverse range of alternative music and talk programs. The Students' Association (SA) is the representative body for students at UTS and represents all students of the University on welfare and education issues. Students' Representative Council (SRC) is the group of elected students that enacts, directs and coordinates the work of the SA. Every UTS student has the right to stand for election to SRC and to vote in the annual elections.
Revenue from membership fees is used to support the existence of professional advocacy staff; for academic and non-academic appeals; to fund the student newspaper, Vertigo; to run the Peer Tutor Scheme and second-hand textbook shop; and facilitate and support various information, education and action campaigns to benefit students.
UTS Gallery presents innovative work by professional practitioners based locally, nationally and internationally. The annual program of exhibitions incorporates curated, solo and collaborative projects across a broad range of media, with a key focus on critical practices that reflect and engage with current dialogues surrounding cultural production.
UTS Art Collection comprises over 600 significant works of all sizes in a variety of styles and media. The Collection aims to enhance the educational mission and cultural life of UTS by providing an environment within which works of art are an integral and everyday element.
UTS Union Ltd enhances the quality of student life and broadens the learning experiences of the UTS community. It provides a range of non-academic services and facilities including more than 70 social and sporting clubs and societies; food outlets; bars; a newsagency and other retail outlets; function and catering services; a member benefit program; and sport and fitness amenities, including a fully equipped gymnasium, the Sydney Boys High Stadium and a comprehensive sport and recreation program. Off campus the Union also provides access to a licensed restaurant and bar at the UTS Haberfield Club Ltd.
The Centre contains a state-of-the-art cardio theatre, an extensive range of weight training equipment, and multipurpose spaces for group exercise classes and circuit training. An outdoor basketball court is available for use at the back of Building 6.
